I'm always interested to see whether or not someone with such confidence has the skills to warrant it.
Mostly, I would like to know the extent of your knowledge regarding hand-to-hand and swordsmanship. So, if you would be so kind as to indulge me... Tell me about your areas of expertise, what you specialize in, what you think are effective forms/arts, etc.

Forms, styles, arts..to me, they need not apply. Limiting yourself to one area, as they expect, is ridiculous and doesn't allow the fluidity a fighter can potentially achieve. Hand to hand is what I make of it, not something I can explain in words. My 'style' is all styles, no styles, and everything between all at the same time. You should know this, Avarice. Anyone that comes on here and talks about their styles and their strengths most likely doesn't have any to speak of. If you'd like to see what I'm capable of, all you have to do is ask.

It sounds like you're avoiding the question and trying to discredit me all in one go. Surely you can tell me whether or not you are versed in grappling, submission, striking and whatnot? Then, perhaps, if you are kind enough to quit beating around the bush, you might tell me where you garnered this knowledge from. Real life practice or such, for instance, in the most ideal of circumstances.

Listen, Oprah, this isn't 20 Questions with the Great One. I'm hardly 'beating around the bush', because I said it once, and I'll say it again; If you want to know, just ask me. And that doesn't mean "Oh oh Eric, sir, what size boot do you wear to normally kick everyones ass???". I'll point my index finger down to that forum called "The Combat Arena", and you can find out firsthand. Why talk about it when I can show you? I mean, let's be serious; that's why you're here. The stage is all yours.

If you can't even hold a civilized conversation without exploding into childish tantrums and wantonly stroking your own ego, what makes you think I would trust you to engage me in a respectable fight?
From the battles of yours I reviewed, you seem to have a penchant for finishing off opponents on a whim, with minimal justification.
Now, I do not believe it worth my while to fight someone who simply decides to be in a position to strike me dead without backing it up with realworld mechanics.
By the looks of it, then, you don't seem to have a grasp of these mechanics, and as such I fear I must (more or less) respectfully decline until convinced of the contrary.
You might be able to coax people with no understanding of (un)armed combat into thinking that you are an expert simply by acting the part of 'the great one', but with someone like me, who has a look on the theoritical and (in some cases) practical side of the arts, you'll have to be a little more compelling.

Who the fuck talks like that? Seriously. The only reason you won't fight me is simply because you know I'm going to kick your ass all over these forums. No real justification? Every movement is about as precise as you can get. Infact, compared to me, you're more than likely an amateur in the mechanics department. If you'd like to test that theory out, I won't even use a character, and we'll fight human to human. Any style you'd like, and I'll beat you in less than 5 turns, granted you aren't a pussy and actually fight in those 5 turns. The time for fancy talk and numerous questions are over. Anyone can sit here and talk like "Oh, well, you're not good enough to fight me. Prove something to me." Only certain people can sit here and say "I'm going to kick your ass" and actually back it up. So put down your purse, close down dictionary.com on your IE browser, stop shaving your legs, and get in the Combat Arena.

I dont know, I still prefer to be a human.. but whats wrong with doing a star wars RP? Those things can be really fun when not everyone makes themselves a jedi! How about a modern day war story? Humans are VERY versatile, you give them mutations, extreme skills, or even flaws. You dont even need to fight dragons and elves, and use magical spells, and all that. Though I was in one great vampire RP, and I was a Vampire assassination squad comprised of vampires and one thing that was close to them (I forgot ) and in another Vampire RP I was a human taxi driver who kept getting beat up and rescued, but he had great character development up to the end where he shot himself in the mouth.

*Looks this whole thing over and shakes his head* Just great guys. So answer me one question.... how in the hell did this thread go from me asking for some help and a possible tutor to teach me how to at least stand my own ground in a fight. To Eric and Avarice getting into a typical long winded argument and fight? Just curious you know.
