There are infinite universes, just as there are infinite dimensions to the reality that we only observe in five. Usually, these universes do not interact with one another, except in a very cursory way. Each universe has a physical world, an ascended plane, a hell, and a netherworld of sorts. These vary as according to which universe you are currently in.
There has long been a proven mathematical fact, in a great many universes, that there can be no such thing as a contradiction. A contradiction, by definition, is a paradox, and would destroy the universe in which it happenned. However, this theory is, ultimately, correct. With an infinite number of universes, with varying levels of improbability, and also based off various consequences of differing objects affected by the base, which is the improbability variable, we can define that in any given universe, a seemingly innocuous statement can be proven correct in a different plane.
However, as there are an infinite number of universes, the powers of chaos, upon which the origin of traveling among universes is based, upon the constant of the given variable, the universes where blatantly untrue things are said to exist are near an impossiblity to reach, due to the high level of improbability.
In short, the multiverse covers it's own hypothetical ass.
Now onto planeswalking. There are a variety of ways to go about planeswalking. The simplest way is to step into an area in random flux, when herding cattle or some nonesuch, and get warped into another reality. However, the probability of this happening is equilavent to one managing to reach a universe in which the improbability equilavent of their world is inversed, thus making everything true false, and everything false, true.
The most certain way of traveling between worlds is to build your own way. This is very difficult. First, you must build an equation for a translating/navigating device, with which you can set the exact reverberation rhythym for the 'voyage'. Then, you need enough energy to tear a hole in reality.
In short, you need something equilavent to a isolated cold fusion device, and the most powerful supercomputer the world over.
That is, of course, if you intend to find your way back. If you simply wish to get wherever, record your voyage, and don't care about getting back, it's much easier. Simply build a device for doing so, and go follow the flow of the space time continuum. It's very fun. Go ahead. Build a device. I dare you.
Remember to bring with you something that always possesses monetary value, or else bring something to go hunting and foraging with.
Also remember, that the larger the object, the more energy necessary to transport it. A human body and everything in its immediate vicinity is very difficult to transport into another reality as it is.
