My story may not be as exciting or as riveting as others may be, but why not tell it anyway. You see as far as I know I'm one of the older rpers. I don't mean that I've been rping for a long time, I've only rped for four and a half years. I mean that as far as I know I'm one of the oldest people.
I first started rping back in 1998 when I was in high school, I was 17 going on 18 then. But that was when I first realized my passion for writing. The rping me and my friends did was of the pencil and paper variety with dice and our imaginations.
It wasn't until I joined the U.S. Army in the summer of '99 that I had to find a new conduit in which to use my imagination. Upon graduating from Basic and AIT I was stationed in Germany. I found a new group to RP with and things seemed to be getting back to normal with me. It was in December of 2000 that my unit was sent to Kosovo for a six month tour for the peace keeping mission down there. It was there, on a laptop with internet access that I found the world of online rp. I used to occassionly go on chat rooms before every now and then. It was one night when I accidently came to the CoD under my nickname Max, which I had gained in high school, that I learned a new way to RP.
The first two people I had met that night had been Jodo Kast and Sexdemon, now better known as Watcher. From that point on Sarah and I had become the best of friends and she had helped me through a lot of things that I was only learning. I'd do anything for Sarah because she still remains one of my best friends and I trust her. I had met many people and made many friends and enemies. Others I count among my friends included Keiyan, Thalia, ShadowAir and Aeon. I still remember Fate, me and him always seemed to be going at it. Now I'm not much of a fighter, so I fought as best I could under the circumstances. I also met Lady Light there, she became my first online girlfriend and probably my most serious (With one exception.) I had even gone so far as tried to get a change of duty station to be with her until I found out a few things. Needless to say it was good I hadn't. It was also there that I met one special person in particular that helped me flesh out my own character's background and history. That was Ashley. Her character Angel was the best thing to happen to my character and I still see her as my baby sister to this day.
After six months of spending time rping and having fun I went back to Germany, still coming online now and again and continuing with everything. Over the next couple of years places came and went, new players came, some stuck around others left. To make a long, boring story only short and boring, I eventually only had time myself for the lesser rping of forum rp. I had even made a site of my own called Terasle. I think my problem with it was I tried to do too much at once. Now it's boards only exsist for my own use as a place to store the stories I write in case I ever finish one good enough to try and go somewhere with.
Anyway, that's my story. Currently I'm out of the military, working full time and trying to get online at least once a day to check on things and talk to friends. By the way. In case anyone was wondering, as of May 7, 2004 I am 24 years of age.
